Leicester’s progress to the last four of the BBL Cup is great reward for the club and its fans, says coach Rob Paternostro.
The Riders are much fancied this term after stringing together a run of six victories, and saw off Cheshire Jets last weekend to set up a semi-final match up against Newcastle.
Paternostro said: “Advancing further in the cup is great for all of us at the Riders. Our players and fans get a chance to be a part of a couple of exciting games against the Eagles.
“Again (last) Sunday our away fan support was tremendous, it means a lot to both our players and staff to have that many people travel to watch us play.”
In the other semi-final, Worcester face Plymouth. Of the remaining four teams in the competition, only Newcastle have previously won the BBL Cup.
