Davis aware of Worcester quality

Glasgow player-coach Sterling Davis says its hard to pinpoint Worcester’s main threat, such is their overall quality, ahead of this Saturday’s league clash.

Glasgow player-coach Sterling Davis says its hard to pinpoint Worcester’s main threat, such is their overall quality, ahead of this Saturday’s league clash.

Worcester go in to the weekend in second spot in the BBL with a 6-2 record, but it comes under a stern test with back to back matches at Newcastle and Glasgow, the two clubs surrounding them in the league table.

Davis said: “They are one of the in-form teams right now. Paul has done a great job of not only putting this team together, but getting them to gel. They have too many guys that step up for them to mention just one.”

The two sides have already met this season, with the Wolves winning 78-73 up at Kelvin Hall.

But the Rocks are also in good form, and Wolves Director of Basketball Paul James is expecting another tough encounter.

He added: “We played the Rocks earlier in the season when both teams were trying to find their feet. They are a tough team, and are well coached by Sterling Davis. They have had some injury problems of late, but such is their depth of players they have not really missed a beat.

“Mychal Green is their main man and has been on fire for them. He is supported by Gareth Murray, Danny Huffor, Andrew Wedemire and of course Davis.”
