The Glasgow Rocks bounced back from a disappointing performance against the Mersey Tigers to defeat the Guildford Heat 86-75 at Kelvin Hall.

It was the Heat who made the best of the early exchanges with Drew Lasker making good contribution in a 20-11 advantage. The Rocks fought back scoring four of the last six points to trail 22-15 at the end of the first quarter.

Glasgow finally began to wear their opponents down and make ground work for a 12-4 offensive run with EJ Harrison stroking in a couple of triples. Trailing 40-37 before the interval, the visitors gained a slender half time lead thanks to a Mike Martin three pointer followedd by a score from Lasker.

Sterling Davis and his men dominated the second half with a stunning 17-2 surge to take a commanding lead at 57-44 with Mychal Green scoring. Guildford responded well with a 13-4 run of their own to trail by four points heading into the final stanza.

The Heat’s offence fell apart and the Rocks countered this with an unanswered 7-0 run which all but effectively ended the game. Green was the high point man on the night with 22 points while Lasker had 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in an impressive all round performance
