Bell wants Plymouth stay

Jeremy Bell has declared his desire to stay at Plymouth Raiders for the 2012/2013 season.

Jeremy Bell has declared his desire to stay at Plymouth Raiders for the 2012/2013 season.

Bell, 28, was Plymouth Raiders’ top points scorer last season as well as fourth highest in the entire BBL as the point-guard averaged an impressive 19.3 points per game in what turned out to be a positive 2011/2012 campaign for The Raiders – reaching both the BBL Cup and Trophy finals but unfortunately losing out both times to BBL powerhouses Newcastle Eagles.

The American was in no doubt when quizzed on where he would like to play his basketball next season, telling thisisplymouth.co.uk: “I would love to come back to Plymouth next season. I hope the majority of the team do, so we have this year’s experience of playing together and we can improve.”

He added: “I really did enjoy playing here this season. I like playing for this club. We had a great team, great fans and a good season.”

Bell knows that other clubs will come in for his services but he only has one club in mind: “Of course, you have to give yourself options and through the summer you have other offers, but if it had to be one or the other it would definitely be Plymouth.”

Raiders Boss Gavin Love is expected to offer the American a new one-year deal and recently hinted at doing exactly that by revealing he is on the lookout for a second ball-handler, who would inevitably play alongside Bell in the upcoming season.
