Leicester Riders have moved to sign Spanish guard Jorge Calvo.
Calvo, 24, played his rookie year with Baloncesto Leon SAD last season in Spain’s LEB Gold League, the league below the ACB.
Riders head coach Rob Paternostro said: “Jorge is a talented young player. He is a good size and has athletic ability.
“He has shown the ability to play both guard positions and is a player who we are looking forward to working with. We feel his versatility is something that can be very valuable to our club.
“He is excited about the challenge of playing and living in the UK. I was very impressed with him when we spoke.
“You never know where the recruiting process will take you, and I have been using contacts from all over the world to find players, and that’s what led us to Jorge.”
Jorge averaged 17 minutes, four points, two assists and two rebounds per game last season.
